Ingredients
- 2 lb boneless chicken thighs
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Amounts are scaled from the original 6 servings; cooking times may change for bigger batches.
Steps
- Put the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Whisk honey, soy sauce and garlic and pour over.
- Cook on low 4 hours until the chicken reaches 165°F.
- Remove the chicken, whisk cornstarch with 2 tbsp water into the sauce and cook on high 10 minutes to thicken.
Swaps
- Tamari or coconut aminos work in place of soy sauce (tamari is usually gluten-free; check the label).
- Maple syrup or sugar can replace honey (maple keeps it vegan).
- Turkey works the same way as chicken; cook both to 165°F.
Times are a guide; ovens and air fryers vary. Cook poultry to 165°F, ground meat to 160°F, and pork and fish to 145°F. Diet tags come from the ingredient list; check labels for allergens.
