DinnerStovetop25 minServes 4
Ingredients
- 12 oz fettuccine
- 1 lb chicken breast, sliced thin
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated parmesan
Amounts are scaled from the original 4 servings; cooking times may change for bigger batches.
Steps
- Cook the pasta in salted water; save 1/2 cup of the water and drain.
- Season the chicken and cook in 1 tbsp butter over medium-high heat 5-6 minutes until 165°F. Remove.
- Melt the remaining butter, cook garlic 30 seconds, add cream and simmer 3 minutes.
- Stir in parmesan off the heat, add pasta and chicken, and loosen with pasta water as needed.
Swaps
- Half-and-half or whole milk can replace cream; the sauce will be a little thinner, so simmer it a bit longer and do not boil hard.
- Turkey works the same way as chicken; cook both to 165°F.
Times are a guide; ovens and air fryers vary. Cook poultry to 165°F, ground meat to 160°F, and pork and fish to 145°F. Diet tags come from the ingredient list; check labels for allergens.
